We’re thrilled to introduce the new version 6.1 of the MindCAD software suite, packed with powerful updates that streamline workflows and elevate visual quality across design, rendering, and variant management.
Highlights include: full-color 3D printing via multi-material OBJ export, new stitching over imported meshes, render templates for fast consistent views, transparency in Advanced (PBR) materials, a remesh/simplify tool for imported components, and major improvements in Last and Variant Builder modules.
This 6.1 release further accelerates concept-to-prototype with smarter tools and seamless consistency across applications.
MindCAD 3D V6.1 release offers the following new features and enhancements:
3D Print: Multi material support
3D models can now be exported in OBJ format with their original materials and textures, making full-color 3D printing completely seamless.
Compatible with printers such as Mimaki and Stratasys for true-to-design, high-quality results.

Support for stitch lines over imported components
The new 3D Line Tool lets you draw stitch lines directly on imported components - such as soles or accessories - and apply stitch styles instantly. Simply sketch your line, choose a stitch type or drag one from the library, and the stitches are applied immediately.

Accessory Sync Update
Improvements in the Accesory Editor in MindCAD 3D now updates model accessory instances automatically whenever changes are made, making the editing process faster, smoother, and far more intuitive.
Render Templates
Create and manage reusable Render Templates that save your favorite render settings and camera views. This makes it effortless to apply consistent visuals across different models and quickly update your look whenever needed.
Advanced Materials creation enhancements
Creating new Advanced Materials in CAD3D is now more powerful with support for transparency and diffuse color properties.
You can also use a local image file or a texture from the CAD3D Texture Library as input, blending it with the diffuse color for greater flexibility when defining materials.

Remesh tool (for imported components)
A new Simplify Geometry Tool lets you reduce mesh complexity by up to 10× using a Trim Factor.
Before finalizing the simplified version, you can compare details like vertex and face counts or average triangle size, giving you valuable insight into the impact of the reduction.
Transparency support for PBR Materials
Transparency is now supported for Advanced (PBR) Materials in both Realistic Render and Online Render modes. Normal (Phong) Materials now also support transparency in the Realistic Render, giving you more flexibility and visual realism across different material types.

MindCAD Last V6.1 release offers the following new features and enhancements:
Last extensions
You can now create Last Bottom Supplements and export them directly to .STL or .OBJ for 3D printing or other production workflows. The original Last remains preserved, letting you experiment freely with supplemental geometry and seamlessly integrate it into your flattened designs.
MindCAD Variant Builder V6.1 release offers the following new features and enhancements:
Thumbnails size options
A Style option lets you choose from multiple thumbnail sizes to tailor how your material options are shown. All options previews are automatically refreshed for a consistent, polished look across projects. Updated thumbnails are also included when exporting to sltx, ensuring full compatibility with the Catalog Builder.

View mode for multiple 3D variants simultaneously
Easily view multiple 3D variants at once with the new Compare Variants option.
Select which variants to display and explore them with synchronized camera views for smooth, intuitive comparisons.
