Main Features

Improved Parts Detection Method

MindCAD Part Scan has introduced an enhanced parts detection method, providing the following key improvements:

1. Robust Detection: The new algorithm offers better accuracy in identifying parts, even against non-uniform backgrounds or reflective surfaces. Internal features like holes and text are now more reliably detected.
2. Optimized Area of Interest: A secondary algorithm focuses on selecting only the relevant areas in the photo, crucial for detecting small parts. This reduces the detection area to what’s relevant, aiding in segmentation.
3. User-Friendly Adjustments: In the Trace context, users can now show or hide the Detection Zone layer, allowing for manual adjustment of the detected area. This feature helps with accurate part tracing and detection.
4. Enhanced Small Feature Detection: The new “Smallest Feature Size” option in the Trace context lets users set the size of the smallest hole or part to detect, using a slide bar. This feature improves the identification of small parts and holes, even those as tiny as 2–3 mm.

New Quick Select Tool in Edit Context

MindCAD Part Scan introduces a powerful new tool in the Edit context designed to enhance geometry editing:

• Direct Point Manipulation: Enables simultaneous selection and manipulation of multiple geometry points. Users can drag selected points together using the arrow keys for coordinated movement.
• Flexible Selection Controls: Use CTRL to add points to the selection and SHIFT to remove them, facilitating precise adjustments.
• Editing Options: After selecting points, users can Remove, Delete, or Merge points along a line, simplifying editing. Points can also be converted between corners and curves as needed.

Go to the Edit Context and select Quick Select from the Tools bar in Part Scan.

New Continue Line Tool in Edit Context

MindCAD Part Scan introduces a new Continue Line Tool within the Edit context, designed to enhance line drawing and correction capabilities:

• Seamless Line Continuation: Pick up from an open line and continue drawing to close or extend it — ideal for corrections and finishing paths.
• Integrated Workflow: Works with Quick Select’s Delete option to close gaps or extend lines after removing unwanted segments.
• Efficient Corrections: Eliminates the need for break/join tools, offering a more direct and intuitive workflow.

Refined DXF AAMA Export Capabilities

MindCAD Part Scan now better adheres to DXF AAMA standards for notches and text export:

• Standardized Layers: V-notch and slit notch → Layer 4 (points); default shapes → Layer 11; Notch T → 80; Rect → 81; U → 83.
• Notch Properties: Angle and depth now comply with AAMA specifications.
• Text Handling: Labels are exported as text rather than lines for better readability.

New ZCC Exporter in Part Scan
